When I was in grade 8 there was a LP of Parveen Sultana with her in a green and pink dress (Ahir Bhairav, & a sadra in Bhairavi). I loved her singing and a had huge crush on her. I must have heard that record so many times - poor record it got spoiled.

The world needs more Santoor players. Hearing from them is a treasure. I know that you get many, many requests Arvind Uncle, but, I can assure you that Abhay Sopori, son of Late Pandit Bhajan Sopori, would be a joy to host. Their family has a very unique take on the Santoor, its history, and capabilities that deserves such Baithaks.

Very informative. I am a great fan of Jaipur Atrauli gharana. I totally agree that jaipur gayeki is not 'Rookha sookha". In fact it is emotionally very intelligent and strong singing, shruti jee is par excellence.. salam from Lahore
